Auto-forward your newsletters

There are two ways to feed newsletters to QuokkaReads. Pick whichever fits how you read. Your personal address (u_xxxx@quokkareads.com) is on your account page.

Easiest: subscribe with your QuokkaReads address

No rules, no confirmation codes - just point the subscription at us.

• Substack: Settings → Account → change your email to your QuokkaReads address (this redirects every Substack you’re subscribed to at once). Or, when subscribing to a new one, just enter your QuokkaReads address.
• Ghost & others: subscribe (or update your subscriber email) using your QuokkaReads address.

Auto-forward rule - Gmail

Step 1 - Add your QuokkaReads address as a forwarding address (one time). Gmail requires this before a filter can forward to it.

1. Gmail → Settings (⚙️) → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
2. Add a forwarding address → paste your QuokkaReads address (u_xxxx@quokkareads.com, shown on your account page) → Next → Proceed.
3. Gmail says "a confirmation email has been sent." QuokkaReads confirms it for you automatically - just wait about a minute, then refresh the settings page and the address will flip from "pending" to confirmed. (Still pending after ~2 minutes? Check your inbox for a "Confirm forwarding" email from us and click the link - one tap finishes it.)

Step 2 - Create the filter that forwards your newsletters.

1. Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter.
2. In the From field enter substack.com (for several platforms: substack.com OR ghost.io OR beehiiv.com).
3. Create filter → check “Forward it to” → pick your QuokkaReads address → Create filter.

Done - every matching newsletter now flows to your Kindle. (We automatically skip Gmail/Substack notifications, so only real posts get through.)

Forward one specific sender: same filter, but put that newsletter’s exact address (e.g. lenny@substack.com) in the From field instead.

Auto-forward rule - Outlook

1. Settings → Mail → Rules → Add new rule.
2. Condition: From contains substack.com (or a specific sender).
3. Action: Forward to → your QuokkaReads address. Save.

Auto-forward rule - Yahoo

1. Settings → More Settings → Filters → Add new filters.
2. Set Sender contains substack.com.
3. Yahoo can’t forward via filters directly - instead set your QuokkaReads address under Settings → Mailboxes → Forwarding, or use the “subscribe with your QuokkaReads address” method above (simplest on Yahoo).

Auto-forward rule - iCloud Mail

1. On icloud.com → Mail → Settings (⚙️) → Rules → Add a Rule.
2. “If a message is from” substack.com → “Forward to” your QuokkaReads address.
